Striking Gold

Communication and Public Relations Australia Golden Target Awards 2025

On Thursday 30th October, the night of nights for our industry took place – the annual Golden Target Awards hosted by Communication and Public Relations Australia (CPRA).

A journey four months in the making, from the initial thought of “we should apply for this” to the highly anticipated Shortlist announcement, it all led up to this moment and we were proud to walk away from it with not one, but two national Golden Target Awards for 2025.

The room was filled with industry leaders, buzzing with electricity and teaming with creativity, a true celebration of the year’s achievements.

We watched as Australia’s favourite fluffy ‘Pesto the Penguin’ won National Campaign of the Year for Merlin Entertainments, cheered for Agent99 for their impressive run of wins, and applauded fellow Brisbane agencies and colleagues who joined us on the night. Most of all, we enjoyed sharing the evening with our clients who came along to support their campaigns and us.

We could not be prouder of our incredible team whose work was recognised on the national stage, across the following categories:

BRONZE - INTEGRATED MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGN

“A coffee with Kochie”: Brighter Super’s retirement advocate – Cole Lawson Communications

Every award-winning campaign comes down to a clear brief, strong insights and results that matter. In Brighter Super’s case, the strength of the strategy and the outcomes earned Cole Lawson Communications a place on the winner’s list, taking home Bronze in the Integrated Marketing and Communication Campaign category.

Without divulging the secret sauce behind the strategy, the goal was clear: to engage and educate key member segments on Brighter Super’s advice and event offerings, inspire them to start planning for retirement, and consequently, increase retention and acquisition.

The campaign leveraged financial expert David ‘Kochie’ Koch as Brighter Super’s retirement advocate, positioning him to be a key asset across member events and outreach materials that promoted the fund’s retirement resources, and advice services.

The impact of this engagement saw a:

  • 50% uplift in attendance at member events

  • 51% increase in interest in financial advice services

  • 53% increase in members rolling their funds into Brighter Super

  • 15% reduction in rollout

That is an incredible outcome to a finely tuned strategy.

GOLD - EMERGING LEADER OF THE YEAR – AGENCY

Tayla Harvey – We Are Brooklyn

Tayla’s submission brought together achievements, case studies, professional development, clear goals, and the testimonials of the clients she has supported over the past three and a half years. For the individual award category, Tayla spoke to her growth in agency life, and the impact she has made across a wide range of consumer accounts.

This award demanded detail, reflection and measurable outcomes. Tayla demonstrated this through her ability to lead projects with confidence, stepping into her Account Manager role and guiding clients from the first brief through to delivery, while consistently earning strong testimony along the way.  She also highlighted her commitment to developing emerging practitioners, from spearheading our internship program to engaging in personal development and sharing strategies for success across the team.

Her submission showed her clear ambition, capability and care for her craft. We are delighted that We Are Brooklyn’s own was recognised as the national Gold winner for Emerging Leader of the Year – Agency.

A huge congratulations to our team, and to every award winner and agency who walked away with their own Golden Target Award on the night.

2025 was filled with talent, creativity and standout work, and we can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
